Upstream ships no Android build, so on Termux most tools die with bad system call. JAX ports each one — glibc launchers, tiered fallbacks, Android patches — and hands you a single CLI to install, update and run them.

Android is not Linux-as-you-know-it.

Bionic instead of glibc, no /bin, SELinux blocking the syscalls desktop binaries expect. Each row is one fix JAX ships — with the command that uses it.

    glibc bootstrappers

    Upstream ships linux-arm64 binaries that expect glibc — Android has bionic. JAX builds a custom C launcher per tool that runs each binary through the glibc loader.

    Native first, glibc + proot when syscalls break, full Ubuntu container as last resort — every tool installs the fastest way your phone supports it.

    Android-specific patches

    SELinux blocking network binds, hardcoded /bin paths Termux doesn't have, native backends that misbehave on-device — fixed inside the installer.
